ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Mushtaq Ahmed has canceled the permission letters allotted to various persons for using black papers on their vehicles.

A source within the District Administration said that formal order has been issued by the Deputy Commissioner office following which black papers cannot be used by any one on the vehicle.

He said that all permits (permission letters) has been canceled with immediate effect.

He said that these orders have been issued following the directions of Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

Keeping in view the security scenario, the source said it has been immediately directed to issue notification to this effect.

Black papers on vehicles banned in Islamabad

Meanwhile, Islamabad police have also launched campaign on December 2 against tinted glass vehicles and black papers have been removed from around 300 vehicles since then.

Action against these vehicles is being taken under Motor Vehicle Ordinance and special teams have been constituted for the purpose.
