Pakistan Army24th ASEAN Regional Forum held at NDU Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The 24th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) was held at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad from October 4-7, 2021.

The Heads of Defence Universities, Colleges and Institutions (HDUCI) attended the event chaired by the NDU Pakistan and co-chaired by the NDU Malaysia

In the event, 21 Countries (part of ARF) Countries participated virtually through Zoom-link.

The Defence Minister Pervez Khattak visited the forum. He was welcomed by the President NDU Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed.

In his address, the defence minister highlighted the purpose of the event and emphasized the importance of cooperation in security studies, peacebuilding, and research for futuristic confidence-building in the region.

The defence minister reiterated that Pakistan firmly stands by the global and regional institutions and states to bring sustainable peace in the region and beyond.

Khattak said that Pakistan’s contribution to the global war against terrorism is a clear reflection of our desire for peaceful resolution of all disputes, and that Pakistan is opposed to terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Later, military leaders and scholars from different defence institutions from ARF Countries delivered presentations on the given themes and topics.
