PESHAWAR: Sixteen people were killed and more than twenty injured when terrorists attacked a security forces convoy with a remote-controlled bomb at Badabir in Peshawar today.

According to police‚ the bomb was planted in a car‚ which was trigerred when the convoy approached there. After the blast‚ exchange of fire also took place between security forces and the terrorists.

Ten vehicles and several shops were also destroyed in the blast.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have strongly condemned the blast killing and injuring innocent people.

They prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed souls and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude. They also prayed for early recovery of the injured.
