LAHORE: Total 498 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 01 life was lost and 398 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 173 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details issued on Wednesday, 227 drivers, 23 Underage Drivers, 97 pedestrians and 248 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 129 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 142 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 53 RTAs in Faisalabad with 55 victims and Multan remained at third position with 35 RTAs and 43 victims.

   

The details further show that total 572 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 466 males and 106 females, while age group of the victims show that  84 were under 18 year of age, 356 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 132 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 391 motorbikes, 45 auto rickshaws, 47 motor cars, 19 vans, 13 passenger buses, 13 trucks and 62 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
