Islamabad: There is no Gen. Hamid Gull, there is no Army play up so there is no grand alliance of radicals in General elections of Pakistan this time. Still chances of routine Saudi Arabian intervention for helping radicals for election alliance.

This is unfortunate situation for “Right Wing” and religio-political parties of Pakistan that there is no Gen. Hamid Gull in political scenario and there is no Army play up behind the scene so there is no grand alliance of radicals before elections in Pakistan this time. However, there is a chance for them and they are waiting for Saudi Arabia to come in picture and helps for new IJI as it did always in past and invited leaders to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and fixes the situation accordingly.

The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Pakistan will contest elections alone although it tried to form Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI) sort of alliance with other radical and Right wing forces. Jamaat claims that all such forces including its long time buddy Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam (JUI) of Mualana Fazl Rehman is afraid of annoying Washington by joining hands with those trying to pull the country out of an international agenda.

JUI and JI are always together since Pakistan Quimi Itehad or popularly known PNA that was formed to throw Zulifiqar Ali Bhutto out of power in 1977 elections.

This allegation or statement of JI alleges that JUI is also working for United States. This is quite interesting situation for Pakistani voters that radicals in the start of election season joined hands but then departed because there was no Gen. Hamid Gull or involvement of Pakistan Army this time to form such alliances against moderate or “Left Wing” parties. This situation also indicates that if Pakistan Army keeps itself away from political activities then such radicals forces cannot sit together although after every alliance like PNA or Islami Jamhoori Ittehad ( IJI) they claimed that “they had joined hands for the larger interest of the country”. Now it is confirm that their so-called larger interest of the country is lesser then their own larger interest to get power through elections.

On Saturday evening of April 13, JI Ameer Munawar Hasan held a press conference at Mansoorah—the vetican of Jamaat and hub of such previous alliances of radicals and he announced that central council (Majlis-i-Shoora) of Jamaat held a meeting and decided for solo flight.

JI Amir claimed that establishment had tightened its grip on the country and certain forces were still working on an agenda to sabotage elections. He said despite that the COAS, the CEC and the Chief Justice of Pakistan expressed conviction to ensure fair and timely elections, conspiracies were underway to rig or postpone elections.

He was not happy with Mian Nawaz Sharif who refused to give 21 seats to Jamaat and said that it was PML-N leadership that ran away from seat adjustment with JI after six meetings.

JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is also not happy with PMLN and he while talking to media last week fixed April 15 deadline for PMLN for seat adjustment and said that he it disappointment for him over the failure of talks and claimed that considerable progress had been made on seat adjustments in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa but the PML-N is reluctant to cede any seat in Punjab. He added his party is still willing to resume talks but believed that the PML-N has struck a secret deal with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa

Mian Nawaz Sharif is of the view that JI and JUI were asking “too much” from him although he was ready to give them piece of cake but they wanted “Lion Share” from him.

No Love Lost?
No Love Lost?

This situation is in favour of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) and its leader Imran Khan because he will save himself from being tagged as “another radical without beard”.

As “nothing is definite and nothing is impossible in politics”, so keep the finger cross and see what happens before final withdrawal of papers and final day of elections.
