Federal govt approves Rs15 billion for Zarb-e-Azb

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar has approved Rs15 billion for the military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ against the militants in the North Waziristan tribal region.

The sources said that Rs8 billion will be released on Monday while Rs7 billion will be released by the end of August.

The finance minister has also approved Rs20 billion subsidies to meet the energy deficit in the country. The amount will be released to the independent power producers (IPPs) and the Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
