Islamabad: As many as 3,52,492 IDPs from North Waziristan reached settled areas and Federal and provincial governments have stepped up efforts to provide every possible facility to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan. Governor KPK Mahtab Khan Abbasi has appealed to people to come forward and helped IDPs along with the government.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, FATA Disaster Management Authority said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed all concerned departments to take care of the IDPs and that there should be no complaint from them.
FDMA said about two thousand tents have been erected at the IDPs camp in Bannu, but most of the families are preferring to live with their relatives in the settled areas of Bannu, Tank, Lakki and D.I.Khan.
Each displaced family is paid twelve thousand rupees at the time of registration.
Moreover, to provide healthcare to the displaced population, mobile health units and five ambulances have been put on red alert.
So far, around 64,000 children have been vaccinated against polio for the first time.
IDPs registration process has also been expedited with 20 registration desks.
A financial assistance of Rs 12,000 is being to each registered family.
On the directives of Prime Minister, Minister for SAFRON, Governor KPK and FDMA have arranged payment of monthly food assistance of 7,000 rupees to each dislocated family.
ISPR sources say all possible facilities are being provided to the IDPs.
