KHARKIV, Ukraine: Ukraine will erect the Monument of Nizami Ganjavi, a world famous Azerbaijani poet and thinker, Azerbaijan’s State News Agency AZERTAC reported.
The Monument of Nizami Ganjavi will be erected in the Ukrainian northeastern City Kharkiv in 2020.
Citing Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Kyiv, AZERTAC reported that necessary documentation is now being finalized.
Besides, a park named after Nizami Ganjavi will also be built in Kharkiv. Likewise, it is also planned to hold Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Ukraine in 2020.
The statues of Muslim Magomayev and Imadaddin Nasimi have also been erected in Ukraine over the past two years.
The works of Nizami Ganjavi occupy a special place in Azerbaijani literature. His five poems, collectively known as the Khamsa (Quintet), are considered the treasury of Azerbaijani poetry.
