ABU DHABI, UAE: The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saturday conferred the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Highest Civilian Award ‘Order of Zayed’ in recognition of the latter’s role in promoting bilateral friendship and cooperation.
The two leaders also held a discussion on the full spectrum of the strong UAE-India comprehensive strategic partnership at the UAE Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.
As per the Indian media, the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince welcomed Narendra Modi, and expressed gratitude to his “brother” for visiting “his second home”.
Both the leaders discussed ways to improve trade and cultural relations between India and UAE.

Earlier in the day, India’s RuPay Card was officially launched at the Emirates Palace in the presence of Narendra Modi, making the UAE the Gulf Country where Indian RuPay Card has been launched.
The Indian ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Sing Suri announced at the Launching Ceremony that 12 major businesses outlets in the UAE will start accepting the RuPay Card starting next week.
The Indian prime minister made the first purchase by swiping the RuPay Card at a mock Chhappan Bhog Abu Dhabi outlet.

Separately, in a bid to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, a special commemorative stamp was also launched by Narendra Modi and Mohammed bin Zayed.
