TUNIS: The parliamentary and presidential elections will be held in Tunisia in October and November respectively as agreed by the country’s lawmakers on Wednesday.

The lawmakers agreed that the parliamentary election will be held on October 26. They also agreed that the first round of the presidential election will be held in the country on November 23 and the second round will be held at the end of next month.

The Tunisian elections will be the first since the country adopted a new constitution this year, and the second since the former president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali fled the country after mass protests in 2011.
