Several causalities occurred in Indian Northern State of Utter Pradesh (UP) on Wednesday morning when five Coaches of a Passenger Train derailed (Train accident in Uttar Pradesh).
The incident took place near Harchandpur Railway Station in UP’s Rae Bareli District, resulting in deaths of seven persons and injuries to about further 30.
The Indian media reports said that five Coaches of the New Farakka Express derailed but its reasons are yet to be found out. The train was heading to New Delhi from Malda town, West Bengal.
Meanwhile, the process of evacuating the passengers by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was underway, whereas a special train was also arranged to transport the people.

In a condolence message, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “Anguished by the loss of lives due to a rail accident in Raebareli. Condolences to the bereaved families and I pray that the injured recover quickly. UP Government, Railways and NDRF are ensuring all possible assistance at the site of the accident.”

The Indian Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also issued directives to initiate an enquiry in the train derailment in Utter Pradesh.
Earlier in August 2017, in another incident of train derailment which also occurred in Upper Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar City, about 25 people lost their lives and over 60 suffered injuries.
