Three separate blasts leave 10 Afghan policemen dead

KABUL, Afghanistan: At least 10 policemen were killed while several others sustained injuries in three separate bomb blasts in Afghanistan on Monday as the Taliban militants have stepped up their attacks in the war-torn country.

The officials said that a suicide bomber wearing a military uniform blew himself up at police headquarters in Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital of Afghanistan’s eastern Logar province. Subsequently, seven police officers including a commander were killed.

In another incident, a bomb went off in a rickshaw in Nangarhar province’s Jalalabad city that left three policemen dead.

Likewise, three persons were injured when an explosion took place near a university in Kabul.

The Taliban militants have escalated their terrorist activities against the Afghan government, foreign forces and civilians as they had vowed to intensify the attacks in Afghanistan before foreign forces exit the country at the end of 2014.
