Baku, Azerbaijan: The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the Dalimammadli-Muzdurlar-Girigli highway on Tuesday. The reconstruction of the road that incorporates linking of different villages was completed in last week of May.
Dalimammadli-Muzdurlar-Girigli highway goes through Goranboy district. Goranboy region is known for Soviet era sanatorium resort of Naftalan which housed displaced persons (refugees) from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Renovation and reconstruction cost around AZN 5.7 million and this highway connects 15 towns and villages having population of over 15,000.
According to official media of Azerbaijan, during the inaugural ceremony, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azerbaijan Highway State Agency, Saleh Mammadov briefed President Ilham Aliyev about technical details of the constructions and said that the two-lane highway is 20km in length and 6m in width.
It may be mentioned that President Ilham Aliyev also visited the statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the city of Goranboy and laid flowers at the statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev who was his father. The head of Goranboy District Executive Authority, Nizamaddin Guliyev received the President Ilham Aliyev and briefed him about development projects which had recently been carried out in the district.
