Manna Dey aka Prabodh Chandra Dey passed away at the age of 94 around 3:50 am OCT 24 2013 due to Respiratory, Cardiac and Renal failure. The legendary singer was admitted to Narayana Hrudayalaya at Bangalore in ICU due to critical condition. Manna Dey survived by his daughters huroma and Sumita while his wife, Sulochana Kumaran, died of cancer a year back.
Awards : The Government of India had honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1971, the Padma Bhushan in 2005 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2007.
