The Indian Chandrayaan-3 Spacecraft on Wednesday had a successful soft-landing on the moon’s south pole, notching a huge milestone for the nation.
Now India has become the fourth Country to stick a lunar landing, after the United States, the former Soviet Union and China.
The historic landing occurred at 8:33 am ET (1233 GMT or 6:03 pm India Standard Time), according to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

“We have achieved soft landing on the moon! India is on the moon!” the ISRO Chairman Sreedhara Somanath announced after the landing.

Terming it a historic day for India’s space sector, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the mission’s success “belongs to all of humanity.”
The Indian Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the moon landing was a result of “tremendous ingenuity and hard work” by the Country’s scientific community.
“Since 1962, India’s space program has continued to scale new heights and inspire generations of young dreamers,” Rahul Gandhi posted on social media platform X.
