ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed on Monday paid a glowing tribute to the women of the Country for their contribution and services to the nation.

“Pakistani women contributed immensely for the glory and honour of our nation,” the COAS said in a statement on International Women’s Day 2021.

The International Women’s Day is being observed across the globe including in Pakistan on March 8 with the theme “Women in leadership, achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”.

The COAS said that women are also at the forefront against the COVID-19. He said that they in uniform have proved their mettle by contributing copiously in diverse fields serving the nation and humanity.

“They deserve our immense respect and gratitude,” General Qamar Javed Bajwa said.

Meanwhile, in a tweet on the International Women’s Day, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz said that the government is committed to the empowerment and social protection of women by providing them equal opportunities of progress and ensuring their rights.

The information minister said that enforcement of the Women Property Rights Act will help ensure women their inheritance rights.

Shibli Faraz said that it is imperative to empower women to make society civilized and progressive.
