LAHORE, Pakistan: Under the auspices of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, the Closing Ceremony of Weightlifting (Punjab) Talent Hunt Youth Sports League will be held on Saturday evening in University of the Punjab.

In the Competition, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Youth Affairs will be the Chief Guest Shaza Fatima Khawaja while the Acting Chairperson Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Shaista Sohail will be Guest of Honour.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab Dr. Saleem Mazhar, University Registrar, Director Sports, Faculty Members will also join the Ceremony.

Young Talented Players from five locations of Punjab Province including Gujranwala, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad are contesting in 10 different weight categories.

Despite curtailed resources and challenges, Prime Minister’s Youth Programme in collaboration with the HEC and Higher Education Institutions is providing opportunities to young players to participate in various games including weightlifting.

With a clear focus towards grass-root talent hunt and infrastructure building through the establishment of sports academies and resource centers, the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme reiterates youth will raise to soaring heights in the sports.
