ISLAMABAD: Hot and dry weather is likely to prevail in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours; however rain with dust and thunderstorm is expected at a few places of Rawalpindi‚ Gujranwala‚ Malakand‚ Hazara Division‚ Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, the Met Office said on Monday.

During the last 24 hours, scattered rain with thunderstorm occurred in Rawalpindi‚ Gujranwala‚ Sargodha‚ Peshawar‚ Malakand‚ Hazara divisions‚ Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

The highest temperature was 47 degree centigrade recorded in Dadu‚ while Larkana‚ Jaccobabad‚ Turbat 45‚ and Padidan‚ Shaheed Benazirabad and Mohenjo-Daro 44 degree centigrade.

The maximum temperature in some major cities was: Islamabad and Karachi 35 degree centigrade‚ Lahore 39‚ Peshawar 32‚ Quetta 31‚ Muzaffarabad 33‚ Gilgit 25 and Murree 24 degree centigrade.
