Martyrdom of Major Syed Moiz

DND Report

Another incident in which two more men in uniform laid their lives for the country’s future. Another incident in which terrorists attacked Pakistan from Afghan soil. Another incident in which Afghanistan blatantly refused to accept the responsibility of harboring terrorists who are attacking Pakistan. And another incident in which Afghanistan is not listening to Pakistan, rather posturing, “who cares?”

Pakistan as a state has limitations, and it cannot say that Afghan Taliban are perjurers and liars, and they laugh at the situation when Pakistan knocks on their door, requesting them, “please do not send terrorists to Pakistan”. In one of the press briefings, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar advised a journalist to avoid implicating the Afghan government in terrorism going on in Pakistan. Foreign Minister Dar told the journalist that the Afghan Taliban are Pakistan’s friends and such an allegation against them would not serve the national cause. He is a very humble, polite politician who always wishes to have cordial relations with the Afghan Taliban and considers them brothers, although Pakistan lost thousands of civilians and hundreds of men in uniform as victims of terror attacks that had a direct link with brotherly Afghan soil. As already mentioned, the state has limitations, reasons to take a stance, so the Pakistani state does so in favor of Afghanistan and the Afghan Taliban. Pakistan’s state categorically says that India is an enemy of Pakistan so the Israel but it has never accepted that Afghanistan is an enemy of Pakistan, although it was the only country that did not recognize Pakistan and was the first country to attack Pakistan with tanks during the Bajaur Campaign in September 1960. Pakistan as a state might have reasons to consider Afghanistan a friendly country, but neither history nor independent media support this stated position of Pakistan’s government.

In the last 20 years, Pakistan has submitted several dossiers to international forums telling the world that Pakistan was a victim of cross-border terrorism launched by India, and several of them cited that cross-border terrorism is coming from Afghan soil, where Indian proxies are operating against Pakistan. Pakistan has raised the same issue several times in the United Nations forum that the friendly country of Afghanistan is a launching pad for terrorism against Pakistan. India’s two major proxies, Fitna al Hindustan (Baloch terror groups) and Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP terror outfits), are operating from Afghan soil, while the Afghan Taliban always deny this reality.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, after attending the funeral of Major Syed Moiz Abbas, said on Wednesday that the entire nation stands united in grief and pride, saluting his ultimate sacrifice for the defence of the country. Abbas Shah Shaheed (age: 37 years, resident of District Chakwal) embraced martyrdom in an operation while bravely fighting against Indian sponsored Fitna al Khawarij in Sararogha, South Waziristan District.

We are sorry Major Syed Moiz, Afghanistan does not listen us
We are sorry, Major Syed Moiz, Afghanistan, does not listen to us

COAS Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has given shoulders to several Shaheeds in the past, and he bears the pain every time he has to go through such circumstances because the Army chief is a father figure for every man in uniform.  For how long has Pakistan had to face this brunt coming from Afghan soil?

Again, Pakistan has raised this issue at the United Nations forum. Pakistan informed the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Tuesday that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the largest UN-designated terrorist group operating from Afghan soil with an estimated strength of around 6,000 fighters, poses a direct threat to Pakistan’s national security. Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, informed the UNSC that terrorist entities, including Al-Qaeda, the TTP, and the Baloch militant groups, continued to operate from Afghanistan. Terrorism emanating from Afghanistan remains a serious threat to its neighbours, particularly Pakistan. Ambassador Asim Iftikhar added that TTP had safe havens close to the Pakistani border.

He informed the forum that in April, 54 TTP terrorists, attempting to infiltrate Pakistan, were neutralised by the Pakistani security forces, an incident underscoring the scale and seriousness of the threat. He stated that Pakistan had credible evidence of collaboration between the TTP and other groups, such as the BLA and its Majeed Brigade, aimed at disrupting strategic infrastructure and economic development projects in Pakistan.

Do we remember that Afghanistan was one of the countries that did not condemn the Indian attack on Pakistan in May 2025, but rather refuted the fact that Pakistan mentioned internationally that one Indian missile landed in Afghanistan? When Pakistan was telling the truth to the world that Indian missiles crossed Pakistan and landed in Afghanistan, the same day, Afghanistan officially denied what Pakistan was stating.

When Pakistan has credible information that it is under attack from Afghan soil and Afghan interim government is not listening Pakistan rather mockery of Pakistan’s information by stating that “it is Pakistan’s inter affairs”, what option left with Pakistan to take revenge from those who are habouring terrorism and martyring brave son of Pakistani soil? Will Pakistan take decisive action against such enemies?

May Allah accept Major Moiz sacrifice and grant him the highest place in Jannah. Ameen
