PakistanUS recognizes Pakistan's commitment to fighting terrorists

WASHINGTON, Pakistan: The United States fully recognizes the commitment of the Pakistan government to combat terrorists and will continue to support it, said a State Department spokesman.

“We fully recognize the Pakistani government’s commitment to pushing back and fighting these terrorists,” spokesman Mark Toner told a regular briefing.

He said that no other is more affected by terrorism than people of Pakistan.

Asked to comment on reports about ISIL, he said there have been elements of ISIL or ISIL-affiliated groups, sprang up in Afghanistan. “I mean, they look for ungoverned spaces,” he added.

On a question if there were chances of a meeting between Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India during a nuclear summit in Washington, he said “I don’t have anything specific to point to.”

He said “Certainly, we remain engaged with the Indian government. We want to see this entire effort move forward. We’re supportive of any decisions that could be made for this to take place.”
