PESHAWAR: At least four persons were killed in a US drone attack that targeted a house  in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan Agency on Saturday.

According to sources, the drone fired two missiles at a house in Hesso Khel village in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan Agency on Saturday which claimed four live .

   

The house was completely destroyed in the attack.

Sources told that four dead bodies have been pulled out from the debris of the burnt house.

On Friday, special adviser to the Prime Minister on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz told National Assembly that Pakistan will formally lodge its protest on US drone attacks in its restive tribal belt in the UN General Assembly session next month.

According to a data provided by the federal government to the lower house earlier in the week, as many as 400 civilians have been killed in 339 US drone strikes in Pakistan’s tribal belt since 2004.

Pakistan has repeatedly emphasised the importance of bringing an immediate end to drone strikes and declared the unilateral strikes as a violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Moreover, the Pakistan has consistently maintained that drone strikes are counter-productive, entailed loss of innocent civilian lives and have human rights and humanitarian implications.
