Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi while addressing a press briefing also said that UNSC has taken Kashmir issue by confirming that IOK is not internal issue of India and its integral part rather a unsettled dispute between India, Pakistan and people of Kashmir valley.

It may be mention that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan called US President Donald Trump over the phone before UNSC meeting started on August 16 and conveyed concern of Pakistan on human right abuses in Indian Occupied Kashmir and unprovoked border violations by Indian Army. Sources in Foreign Office confirmed that PM Khan also briefed US President Trump that unilateral actions of India is pushing the region into serious security situation and has posed a threat to peace of South Asia.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Foreign Minister said Pakistan has contacted four of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.

The UNSC decided to hold the rare closed-door meeting on the request of Pakistan and China and meeting would be among five permanent and 10 non-permanent members of UNSC. India or Pakistan is not attending this meeting and both countries would be briefed by UNSC members about their deliberation as and when needed.
