Unknown gunmen kill peace committee member in Swat

SWAT, Pakistan: A former member of a peace committee was shot dead in Swat on Tuesday; however, no one has yet claimed responsibility for his killing.

The sources said that unknown gunmen killed 70-year-old Saadullah Khan near his house in the village Sher Palam in early hours of Tuesday and managed to escape from the scene.

Saadullah had served as a peace committee member between 2009 and 2010 when Pakistan Army was fighting militants as part of Rah-e-Raast operation.

However, he later disassociated himself from the committee.
