United Motors introduced its 1000cc hatchback Alpha in January 2021. Priced initially at PKR 1,395,000, this base level hatchback did not impress many in the market. While some experts talked about the compromising quality of the car, others believed that the car may only impress a limited audience. However, despite the uncertain progress of the United Alpha hatchback in Pakistan, the company has now come up with a notification for the fans. United Alpha price increased now by PKR 50,000. In the light of this notification, the new price of United Alpha is PKR 1,445,000.

Reason For Increasing Price

United Motors has not given any particular reason for increasing the price of the 1000cc hatchback. Many people are raising questions about the success and resale market value of Alpha. While this may be true, we should not forget that the Pakistani Rupee has appreciated almost 4% against the US dollar over the past few months.

Keeping this picture in view, the local public expects the newcomers to provide ease in the price tag. The news of United Alpha price increased in Pakistan is not pleasing the fans for the following reasons:

  • Compromising quality standards observed in Alpha
  • The low market resale value of the car
  • Better options available in the market

Is United Alpha a good car?

As claimed by the company, United Alpha is the cheapest 1000cc hatchback in the market. The vehicle comes with a 993cc engine capable of producing 69hp and 93Nm torque. If we look at the transmission block, the car comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. Moreover, the key features of the car include a touchscreen multimedia unit, digital meter, power windows, power steering, central locking, remote key system, alloy wheels, and a reversing camera.

While many of these features come in handy while choosing a 1000cc hatchback, United Alpha still misses some of the most basic safety features such as airbags for the driver as well as the passenger. Although other 1000cc hatchback options in the market may have a higher price tag than Alpha, you can still find the basic safety features in most of the competitor cars making them superior to United Alpha.
