Monitoring Desk: The Head of World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Turkmenistan Paulina Karvowska visited quarantine centers in the cities of Turkmenabat and Turkmenbashi, reports Eurasian News while citing RIA Novosti news agency.
“During the visit, we familiarized ourselves with measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus throughout the country,” Karvowska said.
Not a single case of infection with the COVID-19 virus has been recorded in Turkmenistan
Turkmenistan promptly took all measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the country. The Turkmen government and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan have a responsible approach to work in this area, the WHO spokeswoman said.
Earlier, in April this year, Turkmenistan, together with United Nations agencies, developed a Coronavirus Infection Preparedness and Response Plan. The main purpose of the document is to prevent the entry of infection into Turkmenistan. According to WHO data, not a single case of infection with the COVID-19 virus has been recorded in Turkmenistan.
