RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Rawalpindi administration swung into action on Wednesday after being tipped off that a few Zaireen (pilgrims) have confined themselves in their house in Sadiqabad adjoining the Murree Road, and transmitted the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to the entire family.

The administration with the help of police raided the house located in Dhok Kashmirian area of Sadiqabad which falls under Union Council 25 (UC-25).

Eventually, the tests of all household members found that they have been infected by the virus, forcing the administration to seal the entire area as a measure to prevent the Coronavirus outbreak.

Meanwhile, announcements were made through mosques to apprise the people about the detection of COVID-19 Cases in the area and persuade them to quarantine themselves in their respective houses.

However there are conflicting reports in media as per a few of them, an infected-person who had recently returned from Iran escaped from a hospital and confined himself in the house without having any precautions.

Sources said that a family in Dhok Paracha has also been diagnosed with the virus; therefore, the street they were living in has now been sealed by the police.

So far a total of 310 Confirmed Coronavirus Cases have surfaced in Punjab and two of them are from Rawalpindi.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Rawalpindi Police arrested 39 people in the City and registered 21 Cases against violators of government’s directives aimed at halting the acceleration of the virus.
