ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Further 16 people passed away of Coronavirus and 1,160 people tested positive across Pakistan in the last 24 hours, the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) data showed on Monday.

Of those died of COVID-19 on February 21 in Pakistan, 4 each belonged to Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

Now the COVID death toll in the Country has risen to 12,617. Of them, 5,208 deaths have been recorded in Punjab, 4,292 in Sindh, 492 in ICT, 288 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 199 in Balochistan, and 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

In the last 24 hours, 32,313 tests were conducted throughout the Country, and their results found 1,160 people positive.

With more infections emerging, now the tally has reached 572,334 in the Country.

The highest Coronavirus Cases – 256,220 – have so far surfaced in Sindh 256,220. Punjab has recorded 167,819 Cases, KPK 71,043, Islamabad 43,485, Balochistan 18,988, AJK 9,828, and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,951.

As of February 22, 535,491 people have recovered from the disease, and the total active COVID-19 Cases in Pakistan now remain to be 24,226.

Meanwhile, according to the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, the registration for the COVID-19 vaccine is now open for all citizens 65 years and above.

These citizens can get registered through the CNIC number sending on 1166. Their vaccination will start in the first week of March 2021.
