ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan recorded 1,008 new Coronavirus infections and 40 deaths on February 8, as per the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC).

The data updated by the NCOC on Tuesday morning showed that 19 COVID patients died in Punjab, 13 in Sindh, 7 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 1 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on February 8.

With fresh fatalities, now the tally of deaths from the virus across Pakistan has reached 12,066.

Of them, 4,919 deaths have been recorded in Punjab, 4,132 in Sindh, 1,964 in KPK, 480 in Islamabad, 273 in AJK, 196 in Balochistan, and 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

While the number of Coronavirus Cases in the Country has now risen to 556,519.

The highest number of Cases have been registered in Sindh wherein 251,434 people have so far tested positive.

In Punjab 161,347 Cases have so far emerged, in KPK 68,625 Cases, in Islamabad 42,080 Cases, in Balochistan 18,877 Cases, in AJK 9,238 Cases, and in Gilgit-Baltistan 4,918 Cases.

However, with a ratio of 92.2%, 512,943 patients have been recovered now from the disease in the Country.

As of February 8, the total active COVID Cases in Pakistan are 31,510.
