ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 36,477 children were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic across Pakistan from March 2020 to June 25, 2021, according to the National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) data.

The data was shared by the Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination in a written reply to a question by Mussarat Rafiq Mahesar submitted in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

The House was told that the infection is spreading most rapidly in the provinces of Punjab and Sindh.

It was apprised that the spread of infection is greater in urban areas compared to rural areas.

To another question, the minister told the House that the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has approved Sinopharm Vaccine, Astrazeneca Vaccine, Cansino/Pak-Vac Vaccine, Sputnik V Vaccine, Sinovac Vaccine, and Pfizer Vaccine till now.

The minister told that no lab has been permitted by the government to import COVID-19 vaccines.

The minister further told the House that by July 27, 2021, the government received 10,821.930 free-of-cost Anti-Corona Vaccine and purchased 28,606,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
