BEIJING, China: A Chinese Company has developed a COVID-19 vaccine and tested it successfully on humans, triggering a hope for millions of people infected by the Novel Coronavirus around the world.

The vaccine ‘CoronaVac’ was developed by a Beijing-based Sinovac Biotech Limited.

The Company launched the trial process at the Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention in eastern China, as per the Daily Mail.

In a statement, the Chairman, President and CEO of Sinovac Weidong Yin said that “Our Phase I/II study shows CoronaVac is safe and can induce immune response.” “Concluding our Phase I/II clinical studies with these encouraging results is another significant milestone we have achieved in the fight against COVID-19,” Weidong Yin said. It’s worth mentioning that as per the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 130 trials are currently under way across the World to develop a vaccine against COVID-19.

The Sinovac Biotech Limited said that the vaccine is safe, and it has gone through two testing phases while the paperwork is underway to initiate the third phase of trials.

In a statement, the Chairman, President, and CEO of Sinovac Weidong Yin said that “Our Phase I/II study shows CoronaVac is safe and can induce an immune response.”

“Concluding our Phase I/II clinical studies with these encouraging results is another significant milestone we have achieved in the fight against COVID-19,” Weidong Yin said.

It’s worth mentioning that as per the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 130 trials are currently underway across the world to develop a vaccine against COVID-19.
