ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: More than half the students between the ages of 12 and 18 have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar told.

In a Twitter statement on Thursday, the minister told that the total number of students vaccinated so far has exceeded 5.5 million.

Asad Umar said that the Gilgit-Baltistan region leads the way with 68 percent COVID vaccination and Punjab is second with 62 percent.

Meanwhile, nine more people died of Coronavirus and 637 new Cases surfaced across the Country on November 10, according to the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC).

In the last 24 hours, 5 COVID patients passed away in Punjab and 4 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

To date, the Country has recorded in total 1,278,751 Coronavirus Cases including 472,925 in Sindh, 441,493 in Punjab, 178,846 in KPK, 107,223 in Islamabad, 34,498 in Azad Kashmir, 33,368 in Balochistan, and 10,398 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

In total 28,575 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in the Country. Out of them, 12,962 people have died in Punjab, 7,599 in Sindh, 5,782 in KPK, 947 in ICT, 741 in AJK, 358 in Balochistan, and 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Similarly, 1,226,906 people have so far recovered across Pakistan while the 23,270 patients remain under treatment.
