ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As anticipated following the eruption of multiple Coronavirus Cases in Bhara Kahu within a few days, the entire area has now been locked down with the deployment of police and Pakistan army personnel.

All the entry and exits points of Bhara Kahu have been blocked with barriers and security personnel’s vehicles, and no one is being permitted to travel towards Islamabad.

The people have been intimated through loudspeakers that the epidemic of Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has engulfed the entire area and believed to have infected a huge number of people. Therefore, people have been advised to self-quarantine themselves at home as a precautionary measure.

The local residents have also been warned against violating the restrictions, cautioning that a penalty of six months imprisonment or Rs 100,000 fine will be imposed if anyone is caught not following the orders.

Separately, the whole markets have forced to be shut down with no exemption of groceries or medical stores.

In a Tweet, the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat said that further nine persons living in the vicinity of the mosque of Bilal Mosque at Kot Hathial have been tested positive for the virus.

The Deputy Commissioner said that a total of 16 people have so far been diagnosed in Bhara Kahu; therefore, the entire area has been sealed. He said that the Murree Road passing through Bhara Kahu has been closed for all kind of traffic.

Corona Information Center established at Dahi Markaz-e-Sehat, Bhara Kahu

Meanwhile, a Corona Information Center has been established at Dahi Markaz-e-Sehat in Bhara Kahu wherein the people are being screened for high temperatures using thermometers.

Prior to the further restrictions, only Bhara Kahu’s Kot Hathial Union Council (UC) had been sealed after a foreign member of a Tableeghi Jamaat transmitted the Coronavirus to a number of worshipers at Bilal Masjid and the adjoining areas.

In a bid to prevent the spread of the virus, the Islamabad administration had also sealed the nearby Makki Masjid for 14 days.

A similar situation is also being faced in UC Manga of Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which has also been sealed after 39 tests taken of 46 people for Coronavirus have turned out to be positive.
