RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: As many as 481 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Cases were detected in Rawalpindi Division by April 30, according to the Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Anwaarul Haq.

While giving a detailed elaboration on COVID-19 situation in Rawalpindi Division, Captain (retd) Anwaarul Haq told that by April 30, a total of 2,473 samples were tested for the Coronavirus detection, 481 people were tested positive for the virus, 1,477 people were tested negative while results of 575 samples were awaited.

The Deputy Commissioner told that 147 COVID-19 patients were recuperated in Rawalpindi Division; however, 30 of the infected persons lost the battle against the disease.

Captain (retd) Anwaarul Haq told that 211 patients have been admitted in hospitals whereas 93 have been quarantined at homes and various facilities.

Furthermore, the data shared by the Deputy Commissioner with regard to various Tehsils of Rawalpindi District having been hit by the virus revealed that Rawal Town recorded 209 Cases & 12 deaths, Potohar Town 79 Cases & 1 death, Cantt 99 Cases & 7 deaths, Gujar Khan 47 Cases & 5 deaths, Taxila 30 Cases & 4 deaths, Kahuta 5 Cases, Kallar Syedan 3 Cases & 1 death, and Murree 9 Cases.

Providing further details, the data also revealed that in Rawalpindi City, 18 patients were registered in Dherl Hassan Abad, 15 in Dhoka Paracha, 14 in Gulraiz, 12 in Satellite Town, 9 in Amar Pura, 8 each in Tali Mohri, Dhoke Mangtal & Workshop Mohla, 7 each in Badar Colony, Dhoka Ratta, Banni, Khayaban e Sir Syed & Zafar Ul Haq Road, 6 each in Bakra Mandi & Dhoka Gngal, and 5 each in Babu Lal & Asghar Mall.

In terms of gender-wise break-up, the COVID-19 patients in Rawalpindi Division included 317 males and 163 females.

In addition to that, 153 patients belonged to the 50-90 age group while 142 infected persons were aged between 11-30, 92 were aged between 31-40, 69 were aged between 41-50, and 24 were aged between 0-10.
