ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: More Cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) have surfaced in Islamabad, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, taking the tally of Confirmed Cases to 247 across the Country.
With the emergence of new Coronavirus Cases, the number of people in Sindh having been tested positive has reached 183 while and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains the second-worst affected province after Sindh with 19 Cases. Balochistan has so far recorded 15 COVID-19 Cases, Gilgit-Baltistan 13, Punjab 9, the Federal Capital 7, and Azad Kashmir 1.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Health Dr Zafar Mirza confirmed 247 Coronavirus Cases in Pakistan; however, luckily no death of the virus has yet occurred in the Country.
Dr Zafar Mirza said that the federal & provincial governments and all stakeholders are working on a war footing for the safety & wellbeing of people of Pakistan. He said that all resources are being mobilized and measures being taken for the prevention and mitigation of COVID-19.

Separately, the Punjab Health Minister Dr Yamin Rashid said that as part of the precautionary measures for COVID-19, 40 Isolation Wards have been established in major government hospitals throughout the province while two government testing facilities and one private testing facility at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital (SKMT) in Lahore have been set up.
Besides, she added that three quarantine hospitals have been established for critical Coronavirus patients, one each in North, Central and South Punjab.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to leave for Dera Ghazi Khan wherein he will be briefed about the steps taken against the virus.
The prime minister will also review arrangements for the Coronavirus affectees.
The Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has already reached Dera Ghazi Khan to oversee the arrangements for suspected patients of Coronavirus.
