ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The China Machinery Engineering Corporation and Zonergy Company Limited of China have donated relief equipment and cash worth Rs 8 million to Pakistan.
In a Twitter statement on Wednesday, the Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that a delegation of China Machinery Engineering Corporation and Zonergy Company Limited held a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
Dr. Firdous said that during the meeting, the delegation handed over the prime minister relief goods worth Rs 3 million.
Besides, both the Companies also donated Rs 5 million to the Prime Minister’s Corona Relief Fund.
The prime minister expressed gratitude to the Chinese Companies for their support to Pakistan in the fight against the COVID-19.
The Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal was also present in the meeting.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) on Coronavirus was underway with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
The national matters especially pertaining to COVID-19 control & prevention measures being undertaken by the federal government were being discussed.
