ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The COVID-19 pandemic took 65 more lives and infected further 2,179 people in Pakistan in the last 24 hours, as per the data released by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Saturday morning.
With new fatalities and infections, now the total number of COVID deaths and Coronavirus Cases across the Country have surged to 11,623 and 543,214 respectively.
The NCOC data showed that 41,435 people were tested for the virus on January 29. Of them, 2,179 people were found suffering from the disease, recording a national positivity ratio of 5.26%.
As of now, the highest COVID fatalities have been recorded in Punjab wherein 4,716 patients have so far succumbed to the disease.
In Sindh 3,986 COVID patients have died, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,890 patients, in Islamabad 474 patients, in Azad Kashmir 259 patients, in Balochistan 195 patients, and in Gilgit-Baltistan 102 patients.
In terms of infections, Sindh has suffered the most with 245,663 Coronavirus Cases followed by Punjab with 156,928 Cases.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has so far detected 66,679 Cases, Islamabad 41,255 Cases, Balochistan 18,809 Cases, Azad Kashmir 8,972 Cases, and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,908 Cases.
With a 91.7% recovery ratio, 498,152 COVID patients have recuperated now in Pakistan while 33,439 are still undergoing treatment.
