ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The tally of infected persons across the Country by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has now surged to 5,183, reflecting that no decline is in the offing any soon; therefore, the people must abide by the social distancing rules to mitigate the virus spread.
As per the data issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on April 12, 88 ill-fated persons have lost their lives while battling the virus and further 37 are also critical.
By now, 61,801 persons have been tested for the Coronavirus throughout the Country. The results have revealed that 5,183 of them have developed the COVID-19 symptoms or some of them though have been infected but yet remain asymptomatic.
The data further tells that 54 percent of infected persons have a travel history whereas 46 percent fell prey to the disease due to the local transmission.
Until now, 1,028 including 371 in Sindh alone have been recovered from the disease.
The NCOC data tells that 2,464 Coronavirus Cases have so far been detected in Punjab. Of infected persons in Punjab, 258 have been recovered and 21 have died.
In Sindh, 1,411 people have been tested positive, 371 have been cured while 30 have passed away. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 697 Cases have surfaced, 142 patients have recuperated, and 31 have lost their lives.
In Balochistan, 228 people have been diagnosed with the COVID-19, 95 of them have now been recovered while 2 couldn’t survive.
Furthermore, 224 Coronavirus Cases have emerged in Gilgit-Baltistan, 146 patients have recuperated there whereas 3 have passed away.
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has so far recorded 119 patients, 13 of them have been cured, and one has died.
While in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), 40 Cases have been confirmed and 3 recoveries has been reported.
As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), there are 587 hospitals across the Country at the moment with COVID-19 isolation case management facilities and 11,508 beds.
