ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan recorded further 2,435 COVID infections and 48 deaths in the last 24 hours, the latest statistics released by the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) on Friday morning revealed.

On January 7, 38,369 people were tested for Coronavirus across the Country, and out of them, 2,435 were found positive with a national positivity ratio of 6.35%.

In terms of fatalities recorded on January 7, Punjab suffered 18 deaths, Sindh 17, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) 8, Islamabad 3, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) 2.

In the last 24 hours, the highest positivity ratio was observed in Karachi 17.06% followed by Peshawar 12.59%, and Hyderabad 10.95%.

So far a total of 497,510 Coronavirus Cases have been detected across the Country while 10,558 COVID patients have died. However, 453,828 people have now recovered.

As of January 8, the total active COVID Cases in Pakistan are 33,124 whereas 2,285 COVID patients are in critical condition.
