LONDON: The Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi met the British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper in London and discussed issues of mutual interest and legal assistance in criminal cases.

They also discussed effective border management, training of Pakistani police officers in the UK, and measures to deal with illegal immigrants.

In the meeting, the British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said that the United Kingdom attaches great importance to relations with Pakistan.

Yvette Cooper reiterated the UK’s commitment to continue to cooperate with Pakistan in various fields.

Mohsin Naqvi said that we will welcome the British cooperation in imparting training to Pakistani police officers. He added that it would be a pleasure if Pakistani police officers receive regular training in the UK.

The interior minister stressed for greater cooperation to combat illegal immigration.

Regarding social media crimes, Mohsin Naqvi said that there should be no pardon for those who incite violence through social media.

The interior minister also invited his British Counterpart to visit Pakistan.

The Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK Dr. Muhammad Faisal and Senior Officials of the British Ministry of Home Affairs were also present on the occasion.
