Have you yet applied for the UAE unemployment insurance programmer? Here’s everything you should know. A social security programmer called the Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) Scheme will give employees up to three months of pay if they leave their jobs. Enroll to the UAE employment scheme closes on June 30, 2023.

All Emirati and foreign employees in the private and public sectors are covered by the programmer, according to the Dubai Insurance website. Clicking “Non-Registered in MOHRE” will allow employees who work in free zones to register as well.

The programmer went into force on January 1st, 2023, and there is a six-month grace period (until June 30th, 2023) to subscribe to the ILOE.

How much does the UAE Unemployment Insurance scheme cost?

Category A: Employees making Dhs16,000 or less per year on their base wage will be required to pay a Dhs5 monthly insurance fee, or Dhs60 yearly.

Category B: Those whose basic salaries are higher than Dh16,000 must pay Dh10 per month, or Dh120 annually.

The premium might be paid on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annual basis by the employee. Please be aware that employees must pay the monthly premium for at least 12 consecutive months in order to be eligible for the benefits.

What happens if I don’t enroll to the UAE employment scheme?

In accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 97 of 2022, UAE employees who do not enroll in UAE unemployment insurance within the grace period will be subject to a Dhs400 fine from the Ministry and a Dhs200 fine if they do not pay the required insurance fees for a period of time longer than three months.

How much compensation will I get after Enroll to the UAE employment scheme?

The person’s salary will be used for calculating compensation. It will be paid for a maximum of three months after the jobless date.

Up to 60% of the employee’s pay is taken into account when calculating the compensation. For example:

Category A: Maximum monthly claim benefits are 10,000 dirhams.
Category B: Maximum monthly claim benefits are 20,000 dirhams.

All qualified employees have access to seven different subscription options, including the Dubai Insurance internet portal, as well as the Al Ansari Exchange and government business centers (Tawjeeh or Tasheel) that are closest to them. Make sure to have both your UAE cellphone number and Emirates ID number on available.
