Famous for its luxurious shopping malls and modern architecture, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to attract millions of tourists each year. Last year, its business hub Dubai received 14.36 million foreign visitors.
Aiming to welcome more than 24 million visitors to the UAE in 2023, the Emirates had received 4.67 million only in Dubai in the year’s first quarter.
Since October 2022, the UAE authorities have amended the procedures related to the entry permit, allowing the tourists to extend their stay in the Emirates.
In this regard, the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) made a decision to enable the foreign tourists to have an additional 30 days stay in the Country.
Therefore, any visitor holding a UAE visit visa of 30 or 60 days now stands eligible to apply seeking an extension in his/her stay in the Emirates for up to 120 days.
However, it must be noted that in the UAE, the maximum extension period for a visit visa holder is 120 days.
Hence, a visit visa extension within the Emirate is possible and one must contact his or her visa issuing agent to for the extension.
