After Air Taxis in Dubai, there is a new purpose for drone technology. Recently, a hospital in Dubai successfully launched Drone medicine delivery to upgrade healthcare services in Dubai. It is a fast and feasible technology that will make healthcare services quick, safe, improved, and eco-friendly.

Fakeeh University Hospital has launched this first Drone Medicine Delivery in Dubai in collaboration with Dubai Silicon Oasis. It launched within a 10km radius from the hospital to the patient’s house. By introducing drone technology, this hospital has become the first medical service provider in the Middle East to introduce drone technology for medicine delivery.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai launched the “Dubai Programme to Enable Drone Transportation” The aim of this project is to innovate transportation systems in the Middle East.

Moreover, the General Director of Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dr Juma al Matrooshi stated about this project, “As a knowledge and innovation hub within the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, Dubai Silicon Oasis is renowned for supporting the development and piloting of innovative and smart technology solutions.

“Behind every successful solution implemented on a large scale, there are numerous smaller-scale tests and attempts to reach the final stage.

“Hence, we are keen on providing a conducive environment and the required support for companies to run their trials, understand the circumstances, and complete their offerings. We congratulate Fakeeh University Hospital on a well-concluded pilot, and we look forward to seeing this initiative rolled out at DSO”.
