Eid Al Adha 2023 – the Festival of Sacrifice – will be celebrated in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the last week of June 2023, offering an opportunity for the people to enjoy holidays along with festivities.

The Eid Al Adha falls annually on 10th of Zul Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic Lunar Calendar, and the confirmed date of the festival to be celebrated this year in the UAE will be announced once the Zul Hijjah moon is sighted next month.

Recently, a new outlet reported that all Private Schools in Dubai will close on June 26 as part of the Eid Al Adha 2023 holidays.

However, the regulatory authority Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) denied such reports, and asked parents to go through the Academic Calendar for day-to-day business at the educational institutions. Will Dubai Schools Close on June 26 for Eid Al Adha? The body also clarified that the dates for Eid Al Adha 2023 holidays in the UAE will be announced by the federal government.

As per the Academic Calendar for Dubai’s Private Schools, for Schools that started in September 2022 under the Academic Year 2022-23, the year is not to end before June 28, 2023.

Their new Academic Year 2023-24 begins on August 28.

While for Schools that started the Academic Year 2023-24 in April, the Summer Break begins on July 3 with classes resuming on August 28.
