SIALKOT, Pakistan: Two Rangers personnel who were injured in firing by the Indian border forces in the Shakargarh sector of Narowal district earlier in the day have reportedly died.

A Chenab Rangers spokesman earlier said that the Indian border forces resorted to unprovoked firing ahead of a flag meeting ceremony in the sector on Wednesday morning.

Resultantly, Naik Riaz Shakar and Lance Naik Safdar of Chenab Rangers sustained injuries.

An exchange of fire also took place between the Pakistani border guards and the Indian border security force, the spokesman said.
