ISLAMABAD: Two-day Microfinance Summit aimed at gearing up efforts for poverty alleviation begins in Islamabad today.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will open the summit which has been arranged by Pakistan Microfinance Network and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation fund.

It will focus on topics relating to financial inclusion‚ microfinance investment‚ branchless banking‚ micro insurance‚ market segmentation‚ distribution channels for reaching poor people and micro finance regulation policy.

The stakeholders will share their experiences regarding their efforts for reducing poverty in the country and their future plans for this purpose.
