TUNIS: The Islamist Ennahda party-led government in Tunisia will resign after holding three-week talks with secular opposition parties with regard to form an independent caretaker setup and set a date for elections, aiming to end weeks of political crisis in the North African country.

A senior official of the ruling party, Lotfi Zitoun, said on Saturday that the talks will begin on Monday or Tuesday, adding that the party agreed to resign without conditions.
