PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The three-day Shandur festival would start from July 29 in which teams of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral would participate while paragliding, cultural show and night would also be part of the festivities.

The Secretary Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports while presiding over a meeting said that special arrangements are being finalized for preparation of ground, supply of water, installation of stalls and transportation of tourists.

He said alike last year Shandur festival would be arranged in more organized manners this year and more foreign and local tourists would be invited to attend the event.

On the occasion, he directed the officials concerned to finalized arrangements for tent village, preparation of polo ground, transportation and other facilities for facilitation of tourists.

The meeting discussed publicity of the festival at national level, infrastructure development, provision of electricity, water, telephone and power generators and media coverage of the event.

The meeting was attended by Managing Director Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Senior Manager Syed Hayat Ali, GM Admin Sajjad Hamid, Director Culture Ahmad Khan, GM TIC Muhammad Ali Syed and other relevant officials.
