ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Managing Director Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor on Friday said that several mega tourism projects were being initiated to attract local and foreign tourists.
Talking to the state-run news agency, the MD PTDC said that for uplifting of tourism sector and its development, PTDC has planned various initiatives in major attractive areas of the country.
The managing director said that the vision was to develop the tourism sector as a national priority in a sustainable and acceptable manner, taking full advantage of regional and international trends and developments so that it can significantly contribute to the improvement of quality of life in Pakistan promoting the country’s cultural and natural heritage.
The MD PTDC said that PTDC was working to create conducive environment for Pakistan’s tourism industry by providing world-class facilities.
Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said that such facilities which commensurate with our rich cultural heritage, rare archaeological treasures and exquisite environmental beauty in close partnership and coordination between the public and the private sector while preserving and protecting our cultural and moral values and projecting tourist friendly image of the country.
The MD PTDC said that projection of Pakistan as a tourist friendly destination was our objective. He said that marketing of country’s tourist products in tourist generating markets at home and abroad was also top priority objectives of PTDC.
