ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is planning to set up Tourism Promotion Centres (TPCs) in Tourist Information Centres (TICs).
An official of PTDC told the state-run news agency that TPCs will provide publicity material, banners and website to the domestic and international visitors.
He said that in this connection, University of Management and Technology (UMT) is providing support to PTDC for printing of publications, club cards and annual advertisements on World Tourism Day, adding that TICs will be re-shape on modern lines.
He said that PTDC was in process of development of centralized booking and reservation system for all PTDC facilities spread throughout the country.
He said that all the 14 PTDC tourist information centers in country would be upgraded and government had assured its full support in this regard.
He said TICs were representatives of Pakistan’s tourism industry, which was required to be uplifted on modern requirements. He said that PTDC also planned to rename TICs as tourism promotion centres.
The official further said that PTDC was considering to set-up a tourist information centre (TIC) in Khewra, adding that a modern high tech tourist information centre (TIC) would be established at new under construction Islamabad Airport.
