ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) was planning to setup a modern High tech Tourist Information Centre (TIC) at new under constructed Islamabad Airport, said Abdul Ghafoor Managing Director PTDC.
Talking to the state-run news agency after visiting PTDC’s Tourist Information Centre on Tuesday at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, he said that efforts were underway to setup new TICs at other airports as well.
He directed the team that proper duty schedule should be observed to assist the foreign and domestic tourists with correct and updated information.
The visiting tourists would also be provided with the facility of hotel and transport booking upon arrival at the airport, he added.
He told that PTDC was in process of development of Centralized booking and reservation system for all PTDC facilities spread throughout the country.
He directed all the officer and staff that all tourist visiting TICs may be provided according to their need and comfort.
He added that all the 14 PTDC Tourist Information Centers located all over Pakistan will be upgraded and government has assured its full support in this regard.
He said Tourist Information Centers are the face of Pakistan’s Tourism industry, which is required to be uplifted. A modern and attractive corporate look would be given to the Tourist Information Centre at BBI Airport.
